Three players to fill Grayson Allen’s shoes in 2023-24- Cameron Payne

A recent signing for the Bucks, Cameron Payne will provide an immediate scoring threat off the bench for Milwaukee.

Last season, Payne averaged 10.5 points, 2.2 rebounds, and 4.5 assists in 48 games for the Phoenix Suns. Payne missed a large chunk of the season due to a right foot injury. When he played, Payne made an impact for the Suns, backing up Chris Paul.

In his final game for the Phoenix Suns in the Western Conference Semifinals against the Denver Nuggets, Payne filled up the stat sheet with a playoff-high 31 points, six rebounds, and two assists on 12 of 16 from the field and 7-of-9 from three.

That is the type of impact Payne will have on the Bucks. He will be an instant offense player coming off the bench, and he and Adrian Griffin are familiar with each other, as Payne started his career for the Oklahoma City Thunder, while Griffin was an assistant there from 2016-18.

Payne fills a similar role that he had with the Suns where he’s backing up yet another future Hall-of-Famer in Damian Lillard.

The pickup of Cameron Payne could be an underrated move of the offseason for the Bucks.
