The Milwaukee Bucks have both orchestrated and executed their plan to improve the roster perfectly this offseason so far.

Having come into the offseason without a lot of flexibility or options, they have brought in multiple players with steals of contracts this offseason who will absolutely be able to play on a playoff roster.

General manager Jon Horst shocked and surprised the basketball world with the bold first round pick of AJ Johnson, who is looking really like a perfect fit after his Summer League performance, where he showed a ton of potential for the future.

Given the fact that the Milwaukee Bucks made their big swing and home run move last season with the acquisition of Damian Lillard, they were not expected to have many changes or have a roster overhaul this offseason. While their offseason has not been overly glamorous to date, it could not have gone any better in terms of execution and roster improvements. Let's analyze how.

The Bucks' first big free agent signing

The move that surprised a lot of people was when free agent guard Gary Trent Jr. signed a one-year contract with the Milwaukee Bucks.

Trent is only 25 years old, averaged 13.7 points and 2.6 rebounds per game and shot just slightly under 40 percent from 3-point land last season with the Toronto Raptors. The fact that the Bucks signed him on a minimum deal to come in and be a key rotational piece, likely the team's starting shooting guard, is shocking.

This was a huge signing by Jon Horst, to say the least. Trent Jr. has shown flashes of brilliance, and although he can be inconsistent at times, he has the ability to contribute, mainly due to his 3-point shooting. If he can step up on the defensive end of the floor, he has to potential to be the steal of free agency. He will no doubt get a lot of clean looks when it comes to shooting threes, especially due to the fact that he will be playing with Damian Lillard (again) and Giannis Antetokounmpo.

Getting him on a minimum may not have been planned, but it is welcoming.
