Analyzing how the Bucks have perfectly executed their offseason

One Bucks' draft pick hasn't received the respect it deserves
There has been one draft pick in the 2024 draft that hasn't gotten the proper respect or notoriety as of yet. This was the surprising selection of AJ Johnson at number 23 in the first round, which was made by the Milwaukee Bucks.
This draft selection received a lot of criticism from both pundits and fans, as he was drafted much earlier than many people projected. The 19-year-old played in Australia last season and averaged only three points and 0.7 assists.
Johnson did not appear to be the kind of player who had the ability to have an impact on this team right away, as the general consensus was that he was a development project that would not be game-ready for another two seasons. The Bucks are in dire need of young, athletic players who are game-ready and can contribute from day one.
To be fair to Johnson, he played well in the Summer League and definitely balled out. He showed potential and shocked a lot of people. From a physical perspective, Johnson is a skinny 19-year-old who needs to fill out and mature physically, which he will. His play showed he has a smoothness to his game, as well as the slashing ability and a quick first step to be a player in this league.
It may take time, but Johnson has what it takes to help this Milwaukee team down the line.
The Milwaukee Bucks have made moves this offseason that filled needs and still kept them as one of the top four teams in the Eastern Conference heading into the 2024-25 season. While the team may have had a slight fall from grace last season with all of the injuries and early round one playoff oust, the moves they have made put them a lot closer to the top-tier teams in the East. We will see how everything fits together throughout the season.
With very little avenues to improve, Jon Horst has done a great job of retooling this Milwaukee roster in what has been a perfectly executed offseason so far.
