Buyout Target 3 - Danilo Gallinari, F

Danilo Gallinari was also waived by the Detroit Pistons having arrived in Michigan on the 14th January as part of a trade with the Washington Wizards. In 32 games this season, he has averaged 7.3 points, 2.8 assists whilst shooting 45.1 percent from the field and 35.5 percent from deep.

With Robin Lopez being moved, the frontcourt for the Bucks looks light, so he could be an extra body off the bench and provide some size along with being an efficient shooter. Prior to his ACL injury in 2022, Gallinari was a talented scorer and had numerous seasons averaging 18 plus points. This, of course, is not the case now, but he is talented enough to find his way onto an NBA roster still and can have an impact off the bench for the Bucks.

This season, he has only averaged just under 15 minutes per game and imagine this would be slightly lower on the Bucks, but if those minutes can be effective as part of what has been a struggling bench unit then it would bode well for Milwaukee. Defensively, he has never been the strongest player, so the Bucks may look elsewhere if they want a defensive specialist to take the last roster spot.

I think Gallinari will find his way onto an NBA roster and would be a nice pickup for the Bucks, as he brings plenty of experience with him. Whether he fits the player profile they are looking for is up to the front office.
