Derrick Jones Jr.
Right off the bat, it'd be a bit of a stretch to see this one come to fruition, as Derrick Jones Jr. has likely priced himself out of Milwaukee's range after an electric playoff run to help the Dallas Mavericks get to the NBA Finals. Still, that should not prevent the Milwaukee Bucks from at least throwing their hat in the ring for Lillard's one-time teammate during the 2020-21 season.
Jones has put together the best showing of his career in Dallas this year, providing versatile defense, athleticism, quality perimeter shooting and energy. Obviously, as alluded to, all of those are attributes that could help this Milwaukee Bucks team. He's the type of do-it-all player the Bucks have lacked for many years now and could be the missing puzzle piece.
Yet, again, unless Lillard makes some incredible free agent pitch to his former teammate in Portland, the odds of Jones settling for another cheap deal are incredibly slim. Opposing teams will be lining up to make the wing an offer in free agency, and he'll likely pounce on something far richer than what the Bucks would offer.
Still, the thought of Jones and Antetokounmpo running out in transition together and that possession ending in a thunderous dunk from either of them is beyond enticing.
