6 Former Milwaukee Bucks the team can re-sign this summer
By Tyler Watts
4. Joe Ingles
Ingles may not hit free agency. The Magic have an $11 team option for the 2024-25 season and the young squad needs veteran leaders. He is the only player currently under contract over 27 years old. Orlando has cap space and a desire to improve but needs to find talent willing to come. The result could determine Ingles's fate.
The 36-year-old is on the back end of his career. His minutes decreased for the fifth straight year, but Ingles continued to shoot over 40 percent from 3-point range and make plays. He is strictly a bench player at this stage and his playing time must be monitored, but the Bucks need shooting and size.
Ingles played for Milwaukee in 2023 where he averaged 6.9 points, 3.3 assists, and 2.8 rebounds in 22.7 minutes per game. The 6’9 forward shot 40.9 percent from 3-point range and stuck for nearly 18 minutes every night in the playoffs. He was a key rotation piece but left for a larger payday in Orlando.
Does Joe Ingles return to Milwaukee to chase a championship? He would have to accept a minimum contract and a reserve role. Ingles is approaching the end of his career. Does he choose ring chasing over everything? It will be worth watching if the Magic decline his player option.
