Overall thoughts

If this deal between the Milwaukee Bucks and Memphis Grizzlies were to ever happen, it would likely have to be closer to the 2025 NBA Trade Deadline.

The Bucks have been derailed by injuries constantly in recent memory, so the last thing they want is a player who is still an unknown coming off an Achilles injury. However, perhaps if Clarke starts the year with Memphis and shows that he still has the burst and athleticism, then the Milwaukee Bucks could take these hypothetical trade talks a bit more seriously.

How Milwaukee performs could also dictate their interest. If their issues with athleticism, an area that Portis does not help much in, carry over into next season, targeting a player like Clarke, if he is indeed back to form, could possibly help. Adding another first-round draft pick to the asset cupboard would not hurt matters either, especially if they want to make another move down the line.

At the moment, the Milwaukee Bucks are likely rolling into the season with their current roster, as they want to see how this group performs together. Yet, general manager Jon Horst is always one of the most active GMs in the league on the trade front, so the Bucks will pop up one way or another; it's just a matter of time.
