No. 1 - Damian Lillard

After 11 years spent with the Portland Trail Blazers, Damian Lillard was dealt to the Milwaukee Bucks before the 2023-24 NBA season began.

The reason for the trade was that Lillard wanted to land in a title-contending situation after coming to the conclusion that it was not going to work out with the Blazers, who were headed toward a new youth-focused movement. For years, the biggest knock on Lillard has been that he hasn't managed to get over the hump and win at the highest level. He now has the best chance of his NBA career.

Though he wouldn't be doing it as a first option like he would have in Portland, winning a title would still change Lillard's legacy forever. It would be similar to star big man Anthony Davis being dealt to the Los Angeles Lakers after spending his career with the New Orleans Pelicans and winning a title during his first season, altering how people viewed him as a player.

To reach the mountain top, Lillard will have to find his groove down the stretch. This season has been anything but easy for the guard on and off the court as he adjusts to playing in an entirely new place for the first time in his career. If the veteran can indeed turn the tide and play like the superstar he is for the remainder of the season and win his first title, discussions will be changed forever.
