2. Kareem Abdul-Jabbar vs. Detroit Pistons, 1971

Kareem Abdul-Jabbar is back with another standout performance on Christmas Day, but it was not enough to take the top spot. The Bucks went into this game as the defending champions but fell to a 120-118 overtime defeat to the Detroit Pistons.

The six time MVP once again put on a show for the festive day and this time he took on legendary Pistons center Bob Lanier. Despite the opposition, the center finished with 38 points, 18 rebounds and eight assists.

His team stayed in the game with 26 points by Dandridge and 19 points and nine assists from Robertson, but it was Lanier's 35 and Jimmy Walker's 32 that squeezed the Pistons over the line by just two points.

Milwaukee finished with a league's second best record of 63-19, losing in the Western Conference Finals to the eventual champion Los Angeles Lakers. On a personal note, Kareem finished the season averaging 34.8 points, which ended up being his career best.

Another legendary Christmas Day performance from Abdul-Jabbar, but it wasn't enough to take the top spot on our list.
