The Milwaukee Bucks season has been far from ideal, should the team be considering minor trades that may help the team now and going forward?

This was not the place that the Milwaukee Bucks wanted to find themselves in as they prepare to enter the New Year, but this is what reality has now become for the team.

With one game remaining for Milwaukee in the current calendar year, at the time of writing, the Milwaukee Bucks have a 12-21 record, making them currently the third worst team in the Eastern Conference.

That was certainly not part of the plan after a summer that was filled with optimism, following on from a surprisingly successful campaign last year. Off the back of a hard-fought playoff series with Chicago, with a major free agent signing in Greg Monroe, and the exceptional potential of young players like Giannis Antetokounmpo and Jabari Parker; the positive energy was certainly justified.

And do you know what? It still is. The Bucks are working to build a team that can compete for years to come, and that’s a process that’s going to continue to take some time.

This is not a time for panic.

The Bucks can stick with the core they have right now, and work on developing them. Unless an opportunity that they couldn’t refuse was to arise, there’s no need to make major, panic trades.

That doesn’t mean that the front office shouldn’t necessarily be exploring minor deals that could help the team both now and in the future.

If the Bucks were to look to make trades, who should be moved, and who should they be chasing after?

The Bucks have no need for six month rentals in the form of expiring contracts, or in any players who can only work for teams in win now scenarios. Young talent or complementary role players is what Milwaukee will be on the lookout for.

Let’s take a look at some of the deals that Milwaukee could explore the possibility of making.
