As most expected, Thanasis Antetokounmpo reached an agreement with the Milwaukee Bucks on a new one-year deal worth $2.3 million in NBA Free Agency this off-season.

This will be Thanasis’ fifth season with the Bucks and his first under a new head coach. In a recent interview with Basket News’ Donatas Urbonas, Thanasis said that Coach Adrian Griffin was one of the reasons he decided to come back to Milwaukee. Griffin stated that he valued the way Thansis plays nightly, which helped the forward make his decision to return to Milwaukee easier.

That said, let us predict his stats and how Thanasis Antetokounmpo will be used in 2023-24.

Predicting Thanasis Antetokounmpo’s 2023-24 stats for the Milwaukee Bucks

2023-24 Prediction: 3.4 points, 2.3 rebounds, 0.7 assists, 0.4 steals, 0.3 blocks while shooting 45.6 percent from the floor, 16.2 percent from three, and 61 percent from the free throw line in 9.6 minutes per game.

Though Griffin is an admirer of Thanasis, the latter is still unlikely to play a major role for the team this coming season, largely due to their surplus of wings. In addition to Grayson Allen, Jae Crowder, MarJon Beauchamp, and Pat Connaughton, the team also now has Malik Beasley, Chris Livingston, Andre Jackson Jr., and Omari Moore. Thanasis faces some stiff competition on the depth chart.

While he will not play a vital role, Thanasis will get occasional minutes. When the time comes, his role will revolve around giving this team a spark in any way that he can. Whether it’s via a highlight dunk or a stadium-shaking blocked shot, Thanasis will be tasked with making an impact on both ends of the court with his hustle, which is undeniably his greatest attribute.

When the Bucks need a spark, it would not be surprising to see Griffin insert Thanasis into the mix to try and give this team a lift. That will especially be the case at home, as the Fiserv Forum crowd typically gets on their feet for him, especially when he makes one of his trademark hustle plays. At the bare minimum, Thanasis will continue to be a great locker-room presence for the Bucks.
