No Boogie, no problem. For the second time in as many tries the Sacramento Kings dispatched of the Milwaukee Bucks without their All-Star center. That’s because the Bucks simply cannot defend Rudy Gay.

The last time these teams met Gay exploded for 36 points, a season high. Monday night he scored his second highest total of the season, 32 points, helping the King pull away from the Bucks late.

Things started well enough for the Bucks. Led by a virtuoso first quarter from Michael Carter-Williams (11 points, seven assists, three rebounds) the Bucks raced out to a 32-25 lead.

But the Bucks got just six points from their depleted bench in the second quarter, as the Kings reduced the Bucks lead to three at halftime.

Then the floor fell out from underneath the Bucks.

After committing just four turnovers in the first half, the Bucks gave it away eight times in the third quarter, allowing the Kings to pull even to start the fourth quarter.

Despite committing a plethora of fouls (11) the Bucks stayed within striking range of the Kings until back-to-back-to-back threes gave the home team an insurmountable lead.

That’s just so 2015-16 Milwaukee Bucks.

They were woefully out-rebounded (53-37), committed too many fouls (27), got just fifteen points from their bench, and allowed a barrage of threes with the game on the line.

Despite the sour ending, it wasn’t all bad–we’ll cover every part of the 111-104 loss in our Milwaukee Bucks grades and reactions.
