As NBA Free Agency approaches with the salary cap set to reach record heights heading into the 2016-17 season, there are a whole host of intriguing small forwards set to hit the open market.

Regardless of what type of talent level a team is looking for this summer, there’s going to be a small forward out there who could fit the bill for them

Whether you choose to view Giannis Antetokounmpo or Jabari Parker as the Milwaukee Bucks small forward, it’s fair to say they have the starting spot nailed down for the foreseeable future. That doesn’t change the fact that they desperately lack depth to support them though.

This crop of free agent small forwards should give them a chance to address that need, although like with the rest of their decisions at present, they’ll face the challenge of balancing the cap space they have now with the lucrative extensions coming down the line for their stars.

In other words, without big and improbable discounts or groundbreaking changes to the roster, the likes of LeBron James and Kevin Durant among other are not going to wind up in Milwaukee.

That still leaves many worthwhile options to explore. We discussed the available small forward talent in detail on the latest episode of the Win In 6 Podcast, but let’s go one step further.

Let’s take a closer look at some of the the players at the three spot who will be fielding contract offers this summer.
