To prepare for the 2016 NBA Draft in an optimistic sort of way, look back on the ten greatest players to be selected 10th overall in NBA history.

The NBA Draft has been around for a while. The first one was held way back in 1947, when the Pittsburgh Ironmen selected Clifton McNeeley from the University of Texas at El Paso first overall (technically that was a BAA Draft, but it’s listed on basketball-reference so we’ll count it).
First overall picks are nice and all, but the Milwaukee Bucks are picking 10th in the 2016 NBA Draft. So instead of focusing on first overall picks, we’re going to focus on tenth overall picks.
In the spirit of blind optimism, this is a list of the best 10th overall picks to ever grace the NBA. If Milwaukee gets very lucky, they could end up with a hell of a player without moving up.

To keep the theme consistent, we’ll take a look at ten of them. Players from the last couple of seasons aren’t likely to make the cut, simply because they haven’t had time to prove themselves yet.
Also, it’s technically possible for a player on this list to be a second round pick. The NBA Draft used to be far smaller, and some players that got picked tenth overall were taken in the latter round of the draft.
That’s enough technicalities. Let’s get hype and look at the ten best players to ever be selected in the NBA Draft!
