In the latest edition of our Milwaukee Bucks’ Win In 6 Podcast, we consider the recent wave of awards talk surrounding Jason Kidd.

The latest episode of our Win In 6 Podcast arrives with a Milwaukee Bucks discussion that’s even more surprising to us than the fact the Bucks have just completed their best month in terms of wins since February 1971.

In light of that feat, the Bucks are back in the playoff mix and with the best record in the East for March, Jason Kidd would seem like a no-brainer pick for Coach of the Month honors. But on a larger scale, there’s growing national discussion of Kidd’s name in Coach of the Year conversations.

Having discussed the merits of Jason Kidd as a coach throughout the season — and now for the best part of two years — on this podcast, it would be impossible for us not to discuss the recent wave of good will that has swung in Kidd’s direction.

More from Bucks News

We consider the questions of whether players are developing thanks to his guidance or their own work and abilities, and whether Kidd deserves credit for getting meaningful contributions out of a host of misfit players or whether John Hammond deserves the kudos for acquiring them.

In other words, there’s nothing straight forward about this debate, and only the most ardent Bucks watcher will likely appreciate the rollercoaster that is watching a Kidd coached team.

Away from that topic, we also discussed the continued exclusion of a number of Bucks legends from the Hall of Fame, and the departure of Terrence Jones and arrival of Gary Payton II in Milwaukee. As always, we finished up by fielding listener questions in our mailbag too.

As usual, joining me for this week’s episode was contributor and Chia Pet enthusiast, Jordan Treske.
