Behind the Buck Daily Dimes: The Wright Move, Different Lineups in Preseason?

Every morning, Behind the Buck Pass brings you the reading material you need before you start your day at the office. We bring you the morning’s Daily Dimes — Milwaukee Bucks Links from across the web to get you ready for the day.

Good morning and welcome back Bucks basketball. Milwaukee returns to the court to open up the preseason tonight at 7 PM Central time down in Green Bay. The Resch Center faithful will welcome in the Memphis Grizzlies to open the season. Then, they’ll jet over to Detroit tomorrow for a matchup at the Palace against the Pistons.

Let’s get you ready for tip-off tonight with some of the best links around the web.

— Charles Gardner at the Journal Sentinel reminds us that Jason Kidd has no plans of defining his starters through who he plays in the preseason.

"“The lineup will change throughout the preseason,” Kidd said after practice Tuesday. “We want to see as many combinations, see how guys handle starting, how guys handle coming off the bench.“Who is the sixth or seventh guy? We’re going to put guys in a lot of positions.” The Bucks will play three games in four nights as the team’s new era gets started under the leadership of owners Wesley Edens and Marc Lasry.“It will feel like the real thing,” guard Brandon Knight said of the busy schedule, which also includes a home game against the Chicago Bulls on Saturday night.“Our young guys will get to see what it’s like. The older guys will start to get their legs into playing mode. We’ll just use it as a learning experience.”Kidd said the final score will not be important Wednesday, but other things will.“As coaches we will look at different things,” he said. “Each (coach) has a different responsibility. We will talk later about what we liked and what we didn’t like.”"

This will be interesting to see after this week. After three games in four days, The Bucks coaching staff should have a good amount of tape to evaluate chemistry on the floor.

— The Chris Wright saga just got interesting. Despite being asked to be released from his contract, the Bucks still have him listed on their roster on their website. There might be a reason behind it. According to Sportando, Wright was not signed by Panathinaikos.

"Chris Wright, who decided to left the Bucks to play overseas, is still avalaible on the market, exploring his options, sources told Sportando. Panathinaikos expressed interest in Wright but at the end of the day they decided to look for a more inside player.Wright received also a 200k offer from Besiktas but that deal fell through because the two sides did not reach an agreement on certain details. Right now Wright is still a free-agent and he’s waiting for the right offer to come."

The Bucks might be nice enough to allow him back under contract, but I still believe he will look overseas for a better contract money wise. Wright has never played outside the United States, but is 26 years old and probably looking for a formidable contract.

— Former Milwaukee Buck Brandon Jennings isn’t happy with the NBA TV crew, that is putting together the top 50 players of all time. Sheridan Hoops has all the coverage.

— Bucksketball’s Ian Segovia brings us a closer look at point guard Jerryd Bayless.

"Traded four times in six seasons, Jerryd Bayless has seen himself on teams that mirror where the Bucks are (2013-14  Boston Celtics) and on teams that the Bucks want to be(2012-13 Memphis Grizzlies). And he’s been on the teams in between (2008-10 Portland Trailblazers). He carried himself well in every situation.“I think my experience in the league is a little bit different than most,” Bayless said. “I’m 25 and I’ve been in a lot of different situations…. I’m just going to try to teach these guys the right way to do things and help out any way I can.”He is a professional. This is important because disgruntled Gary Neal and well-paid, fat, OJ Mayo definitely were not. Their attitudes last season, while hard to quantify the effect, left a big stench on the team last year."
