Milwaukee Bucks Links: Getting ready for the 76ers

Every morning, Behind the Buck Pass brings you the reading material you need before you start your day at the office. We bring you the morning’s Daily Dimes — Milwaukee Bucks Links from across the web to get you ready for the day.

Can you think of anything spookier than the goggles of Larry Sanders vs. the amazing flat top of Halloween? It’s the home opener of the season tonight as the Milwaukee Bucks take on the Philadelphia 76ers at the BMO Harris Bradley Center.

Truth be told, the only thing I enjoy about this holiday is the fact that basketball is usually on. So the Dexter household usually tends to keep all the lights off while all the potential trick or treaters run away from my raucous voice screaming at the blur of light coming from the television screen.

The only thing I could think of that’s scarier would be hiring Nikola Peckovic to hand out candy at your home.

Enough crazy talk, let’s get to today’s Daily Dimes.

The Bucks and Brandon Knight will work on Extension through today’s deadline

According to Hoopshype and USA Today writer David Alarcón, The Milwaukee Bucks and Brandon Knight are still talking contract extension, even though a deadline on any type of deal looms today.

I honestly think the two sides are so far apart that it’s going to take a lot of magic to get a deal done. I think management is high on Knight, but see him as a totally different level of player than Knight does.

Kemba Walker just landed a four-year, $48 million contract extension with Charlotte.

It’s hard to believe that Knight and agent Arn Tellem would settle for a contract lower than that.

Knight is only 23 and has shown promise during his three years in the league. He has a bright future and hopefully he and the Bucks can lock that up before the 11 PM CT deadline.

If not, Knight will become a restricted free agent at the end of the season, and the Bucks would still be able to retain his services by matching any offer a team puts on the table for him.

David Stern gives credit to Bucks Ownership

Former NBA Commissioner David Stern was in Charlotte on Wednesday for the Bucks/Hornets contest and had some positive reinforcement for the new Bucks ownership.

From Charles Gardner at the Milwaukee Journal- Sentinel:

"“What people underestimate is what new and infused ownership can bring,” Stern said of the Bucks new owners.“I know they have bulked up on their marketing staff, because it needed it. My guess is that they’ll be up some very strong percentage. They’re getting ready for a sellout opening night.“They’ve had an increase in their full season equivalents. It won’t be as good as it’s going to be next year, and next year won’t be as good as the year after. But I use Sacramento as an example.“They went from a 30% increase to another 30% increase and when they move into their new building, Katy bar the door, it’s going to be great. I think Milwaukeeans and Wisconsinites are going to have a great ride with respect to this ownership.”"

It’s always nice having fresh legs when starting a marathon. You have to love the future of this franchise. New arena, competing most nights, and better marketing means better swag! WHOO HOO!

Jared Dudley wants to see Costumes tonight

That’s right people. Jared Dudley expects to see you in the sold out BMO Harris Bradley Center in your crazy clown, ghost, and Frankenstein costumes.

Charles Gardner at the Journal-Sentinel again with this nice assist.

"“I’m over the game,” Bucks small forward Jared Dudley said of the loss to the Hornets. “I’m super excited. That game kind of showed you what this team is capable of, but obviously you want to end with a win.“For us, Philly on Halloween. Hopefully we get a sellout crowd with some crazy costumes out there and get a win.”"

Anyone going as an actual Whitetail Buck, with an arrow through the midsection?
