The last time the Milwaukee Bucks won 30 games before the All-Star break “Smells Like Teen Spirit” dominated the air waves, “Terminator 2: Judgment Day” was the must-see movie and Jay Humphries was the Buck’s best player. It was 1991 and half the Buck’s roster wasn’t even born yet. Fast forward to 2015, where people can’t get enough “Blank Space” by Taylor Swift, “American Sniper” or Kanye West stage-bombing Beck.

It was less than one year ago when the Bucks looked closer to relocating than contending.

Entering the 2014-15 season Jabari Parker and Giannis Antetokounmpo looked to form a young, caustic core representing the moniker “Own the Future”. The rally cry would draw wandering fans back to the tam, or more specifically–the team’s future. Even with Jason Kidd hopping on board many fans would have considered 30 wins a future-compromising pipe dream.

Yet here we are, it’s February 11th and the Milwaukee Bucks are 30-23 heading into the All-Star break. Jabari Parker and Larry Sanders have been put on the back-burner as Giannis Antetokounmpo develops into an impressive young star, Khris Middleton develops his shooting touch, and Brandon Knight grapples for an All-Star game appearance. No one is talking about lottery picks and the future is still as luminous as ever.

Pinch me; and check out our Milwaukee Bucks grades and reactions from the Buck’s 111-103 win over the Sacramento Kings.
