This is certainly not what Bucks fans had in mind when the team embarked on their four game Western Conference road trip. The Bucks lost to the Denver Nuggets Tuesday night, 106-95–their third straight road loss to a sub-.500 team. The Nuggets fired head coach Brian Shaw earlier in the day–leaving the team to Melvin Hunt.
On one hand it’s very common for a team to play with renewed energy under a brand new coach. On the other hand The Milwaukee Bucks squared off against a bad Nuggets team led by a coach with approximately six hours of head coaching experience. The Bucks had no reason to lose this one, but in front of a crowd just over half-capacity they did just that.
With the loss the Bucks approach closer to a winless road trip–they have a date with the Golden State Warriors looming tomorrow night before heading back to Milwaukee.
The Milwaukee Bucks are in their worst slump of the season. Their rhythm is off, there’s alarming defensive lapses, and their allowing big games to small name players like Danilo Gallinari–who scored 26 points Tuesday night (he averages 9.5). For the third straight game the Bucks were outplayed by a losing team in the fourth quarter. How did they get there? Read more about it in our Milwaukee Bucks grades and reactions section.
