Reactions: The Bad

The Bucks did a great job of limiting Stephen Curry for the majority of the game. That is, until he went off for three straight three pointers giving the Warriors an 85-75 lead that they never relinquished. The MVP candidate finished with

only

nineteen points on 6-16 shooting, but reminded the Bucks exactly what they’re lacking with this perfect shot. Confidence, and divine skill. He knows it too. Take a look.

  • The Warriors are second in the league in three pointers made per game, with 10.6, and are first in the league in three point percentage at .389. You know what the Warriors are going to do to beat you. Shoot threes and pass. Still, the Bucks allowed the Warriors to pour it in from outside, shooting 14-34 from deep (41.2%). Golden State started the game 5-9 from three-point range in the game’s first ten minutes en route to grabbing a 25-17 lead. Get those hands up and keep them up. If you intend of beating the Warriors you must close out on the three point line and the Bucks failed to do that.
  • Michael Carter-Williams didn’t shoot well, committed too many turnovers, and only looked like a marginally better option than Tyler Ennis. You can tell that Carter-Williams has a long way to go before he overcomes the bad habits he learned playing on a bad Philadelphia 76ers team. He takes bad shots on bad angles, goes for too many “hero-assists”, and gets lost on the baseline with nowhere to go with the ball. He shows flashes, yes, but the bad habits that hamper his game won’t simply disappear after just a few games in a new system.
