Stephen Curry was once thought of as little more than a glorified shooter, yet now the Golden State Warriors team that he’s the face of is leading the NBA offensively and defensively en route to the NBA’s best record.
If the Warriors keep this pace up it’s tough to see how Curry could be overtaken in the MVP race by Harden, Westbrook, James or anyone else, as his play across the board this season has been more valuable than most people could possibly have imagined.
The four year $44 million deal that the Warriors gave him prior to the 2013-14 season continues to represent better, and better value, and I hope that Golden State appreciates it because his next deal won’t be half as cheap.
