Reactions: The Good

  • That’s Ersan Ilyasova tearing the Pacers asunder. His career-high 34 points, on 12-14 and 5-6 from three, gave the Bucks an insurmountable 34-15 first quarter lead. Ilyasova is one of the streakier shooters that the Bucks have in their stable, but that streaky designation goes both ways. Tonight the faucet was completely one. Just look at his highlights. His shots weren’t even hitting the rim. that’s streaky-good.
  • The bench lives! Well, sort of anyway. The unit produced 19 points, including a bench-high 8 from John Henson who received all sixteen available Pachulia relief minutes. Aside from the center situation the Bucks played both Jared Dudley and O.J. Mayo for the first time in three weeks. Though neither guard played particularly well (5 points, 2-8 combined) it was encouraging to see both of them available even in limited form given the Buck’s recent bench struggles.
  • Giannis highlights are becoming more mandatory by the day. Everyone gets excited about his offensive potential, but it’s his rebounding and defense that will really be the staples of his future-All-Star resume.
