3. Nikola Mirotic is Shooting Too… With a Different Result

It’s a common caveat that has accompanied Mirotic this year that if he isn’t hitting his shots, he’s not very good. Unfortunately for Chicago, this has held true for the series. So far, he’s shooting 30% on threes that accompanies a 40.5 eFG%.

And if you’ve been watching, you might have noticed that most of his misses haven’t even hit rim first, if at all. Predictably, this hasn’t led to good results while he’s on the floor for Chicago. He’s sporting a -2.0 net rating for the series, compared to his team-leading +6.1 rating in the regular season.

Some of this has been a result of Thibodeau questionably moving him to the SF position in his jumbo lineups, but it’s clear to see how his poor shooting has limited his effect in this series.
