Strengths
At this point in his development, Antetokounmpo’s greatest strength is still his athleticism. Other parts of his game have certainly matured since his rookie campaign, but right now his insane length and speed is still Giannis’ strong suit. Don’t believe me? Just watch:
Those two points were 100% reliant on the Greek Freak aspect of Giannis that everybody loves. He stops dribbling at the three-point line and just weaves his way right up to the basket. Let’s not forget Antetokounmpo’s improvement on the defensive side of things, however.
Giannis also has the makings of a great defender. He saw a slight drop in steals this season, but the Greek Freak continues to earn that nickname with some of the crazy swats he displays on what feels like a nightly basis. You almost feel bad for the shooter sometimes; there’s not much you can do about Antetokounmpo when he’s sufficiently motivated.
Remember that athleticism we talked about before? That’s on full display right there alright. Plus the stink face! I love the stink face. I think that Vine really speaks for itself; Giannis does things that most of the NBA can’t emulate or stop. He just needs to keep progressing and becoming more consistent, which he has been doing very well to his credit.

That’s probably what Giannis’ other real strength is right now, honestly. His potential. That sounds like a cop out, but when all of your advanced stats increase noticeably from your rookie year to your sophomore year, you’re doing something right. Antetokounmpo improves on a near-nightly basis in front of us, all that Bucks fans need to do is sit back and enjoy the ride.
