2008 NBA Draft Lottery – 8th Pick
After only picking up 26 wins in the 2007-08 season, the lottery offered the Bucks a real chance to strike gold. A class including talent like Derrick Rose, Russell Westbrook and Kevin Love was always going to be a real game-changer, and with Milwaukee holding just below a six percent chance of landing in the top three it wasn’t an impossibility either.
Unfortunately for Milwaukee, they failed to move up in the lottery, but that isn’t where their misfortune would end. With their eighth overall pick the Bucks selected small forward Joe Alexander, leaving the likes of Brook Lopez, Serge Ibaka, Roy Hibbert and Nicolas Batum on the board behind him.
Within a couple of years Alexander’s NBA career was finished, and ever since he has plied his trade between the D-League and Europe with very limited success.
One to forget for Milwaukee.
