Weaknesses

Jabari’s biggest weakness is the same now as it was a year ago before he was drafted – his defense. He’s a step slow defending, can get backed into the paint by stronger players, and isn’t quick enough to be the same cog in Jason Kidd‘s switching defense as Giannis is.

His three-point shooting, much like many of the young players on this roster, could use a ton of work as well.

As far as fixing these (pretty straightforward) weaknesses, the defense can be pretty well-hidden in this scheme. I foresee Jabari going to the Ersan Ilyasova school of defense, which is predicated on taking charges and an increased focus on rebounding. The Bucks team defense finished with the second-highest rating in the NBA behind Ersan and Zaza in the frontcourt, so I’m not too worried about Jabari starting at power forward.

The three-point shooting will come around with practice too. Jabari will always be better down low and in the mid-range, so the three was only going to be a complementary piece anyway.
