Los Angeles Lakers

Los Angeles Receives: John Henson

Milwaukee Receives: Nick Young (aka Swaggy P)

Why this trade makes sense for Los Angeles: The Lakers elected to take D’Angelo Russell instead of Jahlil Okafor in the 2015 NBA Draft, and don’t have a clear starter at center right now. They also have a lot of wings: Kobe Bryant, Swaggy P, Lou Williams, and potentially Russell if Jordan Clarkson stays at point guard. They want to move on from Swaggy, and this trade with the Bucks allows them to do so without having to waste any other assets to rid themselves of Young.

Why this trade makes sense for Milwaukee: The Bucks get a backup small forward who should be able to shoot from three, albeit far too often. Honestly, who would be better than Jason Kidd to try to whip Swaggy P into shape anyway? Kidd always has disciplined locker rooms; not even Nick Young would be able to change that. Plus the Bucks get Swaggy, which is always nice.
