With the Milwaukee Bucks putting together an impressive and all-round successful season in 2014-15, it was easy at times to forget about someone. I’m talking, of course, about the second overall pick from the 2014 Draft, the Bucks’ very own Jabari Parker.
After falling to the Bucks, Parker came to Milwaukee endeared himself to fans with both his personality off-the-court, and his show-stopping play on it.
It may have slipped casual observers minds by now, but through the first couple of months of the season, there could be little argument that Parker was the league’s runaway Rookie of the Year contender.
And then…tragedy struck for Milwaukee, and the 20-year-old as his season came to an incredibly abrupt end when he tore his anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) on December 15 against the Phoenix Suns.
The ACL is perhaps the most dreaded of all injuries for sport-stars, as the knee and both it’s stability and explosiveness tend to be so central to many of the movements most frequently used when competing.
It was always going to be a long road back for Parker, but as Bucks fans continue to think of next season, and the potential of young Milwaukee squad that has gotten even more talented and younger this summer, there’s encouraging signs on the Parker front too.
Strength and conditioning coach Suki Hobson has posted a number of videos on Twitter in the past few days showing Milwaukee’s number 12 hard at work, and looking strong.
With these promising glimpses of a returning Jabari Parker, I thought what better way is there to remind ourselves of just what the Bucks are getting back, than by counting down ten of Parker’s best highlights from his rookie season.
Let’s get underway!
