2014 Opener: Charlotte Hornets
This was a thrilling game, although it didn’t end well for the Bucks, who fell to Charlotte 108-106 in overtime to start their season last year. This game really didn’t tell much of a story for Milwaukee, because the Bucks starting five changed a lot after game one of the season.
Jason Kidd trotted out a starting lineup of Brandon Knight, Khris Middleton, Jared Dudley, Jabari Parker and Larry Sanders. Just one of those players would be a regular starter after the All-Star Break as of course Giannis broke into the lineup, Brandon Knight got traded, Jabari got hurt and Larry Sanders pulled a Larry Sanders.
Luckily, these Bucks changed for the better after game one. The team gelled, Giannis blossomed and the Bucks managed to snag a sixth seed and win 41 games last season. This upcoming home opener might not tell a true story for the Bucks of next season either, due to Giannis and Jabari both likely missing the game (Giannis due to his suspension from the Mike Dunleavy Jr. incident and Jabari due to injury).
