AM: Is there any sense of trepidation at the thought of seeing the team play within a different system? Obviously Fred Hoiberg has been successful in college, but changing the identity of a team who had such a strong sense of who they were still represents a risk.

MW: I think there’s a sense of it throughout the fan base. There’s quite a lot of fans who don’t watch college basketball, and see Hoiberg as a hyped coach with no experience at the pro level.

Plus, with the tension throughout the organization last season on all levels, the anxiety and anticipation are both at all-time highs. Personally, I have my own doubts with Hoiberg. He says he loves this roster (and he should), but there’s a ton of question marks entering year one of the new regime.
