A little over a week ago the Milwaukee Bucks announced that they will extend John Hammond’s contract as the team’s general manager through the 2016-17 season.
Reception to the news varies from being a ho-hum no-brainer type move to an outstanding move; the sort that will ensure franchise stability for the next two years (at least).

In his take on the re-signing, Dime’s Jack Winter says:
"But what’s absolutely certain is that the Bucks are on track for legitimate contention sooner instead of later, a far cry from where they were less than a year ago – and Hammond’s role in that ascent has been instrumental."
