Milwaukee Bucks Grades: Starters
"Michael Carter-Williams, A"
12 Points | 6-10Â FG | 0-0Â FT | 3 REB | 8 AST | 3 STL | 1 BLK |
MCW was great tonight. Aside from one or two dubious attempts, he stayed within his range on offense and only attempted good shots. He facilitated for the rest of the offense well, and played disruptive defense as well. There’s nothing more you can really ask from Carter-Williams than what he did against Detroit.
"Khris Middleton, A"
16 Points| 5-7Â FG | 4-5Â FT | 3Â REB | 4 AST | 1 STL | 0 BLK |
This is the low usage, very efficient on both ends Khris Middleton that earned that big contract this offseason. Much like MCW, Middleton played his trademark style of basketball on Monday, and it worked out well for Milwaukee. The most encouraging part of his game? Money was 2-2 on three-point attempts.
"Giannis Antetokounmpo, A"
17Â Points | 6-10Â FG | 4-4Â FT | 6Â REB | 4Â AST | 0Â STL | 1Â BLK |
I planned on Giannis getting a B or so from watching this game, but when I checked his statistics it was obvious he played well enough to deserve an A. The fact that Giannis is at that level know, where he can throw down 17/6/4 effortlessly, is really impressive.
"Jabari Parker, B"
12Â Points | 5-10 FG | 2-3 FT | 1 REB | 1 AST | 0 STL | 1 BLK |
If I graded solely on Vines, Jabari would’ve gotten an A+. Unfortunately there’s just a bit more to basketball than that, and Jabari still has just one game with more than four rebounds this season. Still though, his explosiveness on offense is unbelievable–Jabari Parker is going to be around for a long time.
"Greg Monroe, A-"
20Â Points| 9-19Â FG | 2-2Â FT | 13Â REB | 1 AST | 2 STL | 0 BLK |
The Moose was loose. He got bumped down half a grade for allowing Drummond to go hog wild on the boards, but Monroe was still fantastic tonight. Seeing him get fed more in the post wouldn’t be too bad–he just gets buckets down low so effortlessly.
