Milwaukee Bucks Grades: Bench

"Greivis Vasquez, B+"

10 Points| 4-8 FG | 1-1 FT | 4 REB | 3 AST | 0 STL | 0 BLK |

Vasquez is back again! He could be more consistent, but it’s hard to complain about how well he played against Detroit. Vasquez managed all of those stats in just 21 minutes–he knows how to make an instant impact off of the bench. If only more players did…

", D John Henson"

2 Points | 1-4 FG | 0-0 FT | 1  REB | 1 AST | 0 STL | 0 BLK |

John Henson needs to start getting more minutes, and fast. He’s just not the kind of player to be effective in eight minutes per game. On the other side of it, Henson certainly needs to be more motivated when he does get in, but barely playing him any minutes is a waste of a valuable basketball asset.

"Johnny O’Bryant, D+"

0 Points| 0-3 FG | 0-0 FT | 4 REB | 1 AST | 0 STL | 0 BLK |

His positive activity on the boards got him the plus, but by and large O’Bryant was bad against Detroit. His shot hasn’t been falling lately–without him being able to make those mid-range jumpers, Milwaukee’s bench is in a very bad place. Hopefully this is just a short slump for JOB.

"Jeryyd Bayless, A"

14 Points | 5-8 FG | 1-2 FT | 6 REB | 4 AST | 3 STL | 0 BLK |

Bayless was everywhere tonight. He scored, he rebounded, he assisted and he played good, pesky defense. As odd as it sounds considering his last season, Jerryd Bayless has been the ideal bench player thus far for the Bucks.

"O.J. Mayo, B+"

6 Points | 2-3 FG | 0-0 FT | 3 REB | 2 AST | 2 STL | 0 BLK |

I seriously love low-usage O.J. Mayo. The talent is there with Juice, and when he’s smart about taking his shots and acts as more of a facilitator Mayo is at his best, as he was tonight. He’s also become the team’s veteran leader, something that would’ve seemed impossible two seasons ago but is inescapable today. I love it.
