17. Detroit Pistons

After their blistering start to the season, the Detroit Pistons have crashed back to reality. Saying that, considering their position in recent seasons, it’s a reality the team will happily embrace. Stan Van Gundy has his team playing with a purpose, and they are young enough and talented enough that we can now start to become confident that the Pistons will become a force again in the not so distant future.

The team is quite clearly being driven by the play of their dominant center Andre Drummond, who is averaging 18.4 points, 16.9 rebounds and looks totally unstoppable on certain nights. Yet it’s there point guard Reggie Jackson who leads the team in scoring at 19.1, and is becoming a star in his own right. Good support from Marcus Morris, Kentavious Caldwell-Pope and Stanley Johnson is at least making Detroit fun again.
