4. Indiana Pacers

The most surprising of the league’s more dominant teams in the early running is without question the Indiana Pacers. There were a whole host of reasons for people to be down on them, as Paul George didn’t really set the world alight with his return late last year, and the team is undergoing an identity shift, but so far those concerns have been crushed by the team’s play.

George is playing like the superstar he was prior to going down with his freak injury, and is making everything look easy as he helps Indiana to blaze a path to the top of the East. Strong play from role players like CJ Miles and Ian Mahinmi are a welcome boost, and now it just becomes a question of whether Frank Vogel’s team can sustain their early success.
