Milwaukee Bucks Grades: Bench
John Henson, B
4 Points | 1-6 FG | 2-6 FT | 7 REB | 2 AST | 0 STL | 1 BLK |
Henson and Parker were combining well in their time on the floor together, but more important is the fact that we’ve seen a return of active John Henson in the past few games. Four offensive boards in 14 minutes is a big advantage to gain out of any of your bench guys, and although his shot wasn’t falling, Hook stayed busy.
Michael Carter-Williams, A
20 Points | 9-16 FG | 2-3 FT | 3 REB | 5 AST | 0 STL | 1 BLK |
MCW playing well from the bench creates this strange problem. It allows people to say that he works better within the second unit, but then when he has games like this, how do we really know that they wouldn’t be repeated with him in the starting five? New York repeatedly allowed him clear paths to the rim, and MCW seized them. He looked composed and assured, and once again proved that, if nothing else, his attitude is first class.
Johnny O’Bryant, B-
6 Points | 2-3 FG | 2-2 FT | 5 REB | 2 AST | 0 STL | 0 BLK |
Once again, O’Bryant offered up a really solid showing in the minutes afforded to him, which makes his occasional disappearances from the rotation all the more puzzling. His performance will definitely be remembered for the move on Porzingis, but his positive activity on the boards is what really matters.
Rashad Vaughn, C
0 Points | 0-1 FG | 0-0 FT | 0 REB | 0 AST | 0 STL | 0 BLK |
Didn’t play long enough to make any real, meaningful contribution in this one, but at least it seems as if he’s crystal clear on his role. His one and only field goal attempt was a three-pointer, and Milwaukee will be happy to see him let fly on them.
