Milwaukee Bucks Grades: Starters

O.J. Mayo, F

9 Points| 3-11 FG | 1-2 FT | 1 REB | 2 AST | 2 STL | 0 BLK |

You know that Family Guy running gag with Cleveland taking a bath only to have the facade of his house destroyed leaving his bath tub to slowly, painfully, slide over the edge of the ruin? That was what it felt like watching Mayo Tuesday night. It was terrible, and yet, kind of funny.

Khris Middleton, D

16 Points | 6-16 FG | 2-2 FT | 2 REB | 4 AST | 2 STL | 0 BLK |

He was never meant to be a volume shooter, but has become just that. For some reason the Bucks keep looking for him to produce out of iso plays. but he’s just not that type of player. He had some success attacking the left side of the paint where he often passed out of a double team to good effect.

 Giannis Antetokounmpo, C

15 Points | 6-11 FG | 3-4 FT | 6 REB | 5 AST | 0 STL | 0 BLK |

He would get a better grade but no one gets higher than a “C” when the team loses to the Lakers, Giannis included. Him and Kobe had a fascinating duel which saw each of them hit shots they normally wouldn’t. Defensively Kobe sagged on Giannis to better defend against the drive. Giannis responded by lifting for the casual mid-range jumper. He was 6-8 on jumpers–perhaps the best of his career.

Jabari Parker, C-

12 Points | 4-9 FG | 4-6 FT | 4 REB | 3 AST | 0 STL | 0 BLK |

He took control of the offense early. That was very nice to see. Perhaps even a glimpse into the future of this Bucks team. Defensively he struggled against Julius Randle who was able to bully his fellow sophomore player into surrendering a handful of easy shots. Parker wasn’t great on his rotations, either, letting Lakers players easily slip into the lane.

John Henson, F

6 Points | 3-5 FG | 0-2 FT | 4 REB | 1 AST | 0 STL | 4 BLK |

His four blocks save what was a truly horrific performance. Henson was either out-muscled, out of place, or out-played all night. He collected just four rebounds (three less than JOB). His performance culminated in a pair of second half free throws which included an air-ball on the first attempt. Fitting, seeing how the Bucks whiffed on his contract in a similar style.
