Milwaukee Bucks Grades: Starters

Michael Carter-Williams, A

20 Points | 9-16 FG | 2-4 FT | 9 REB | 6 AST | 1 STL | 1 BLK |

He kept the positive momentum of the previous four games in Phoenix. Right now he looks every part of the quality starting PG that the Bucks traded for last season. When he’s patient and lets the game come to him he’s a remarkable threat. He also demonstrated the ability to hit the off-screen free throw line jumper. Maybe, just maybe, he’s finally turned the corner.

Khris Middleton, A

26 Points| 10-17 FG | 4-4 FT | 3 REB | 7 AST | 2 STL | 0 BLK |

Middleton is at his best when he can take one dribble and shoot. He’s a deadly mid-range shooter when he takes those types of shots. He’s also attacking the rim more often which has led to higher assist totals (7 in Phoenix) than at any other point of his career.

O.J. Mayo, C-

12 Points | 5-11 FG | 1-4 FT | 5 REB | 5 AST | 2 STL | 1 BLK |

He was sketchy from three (1-5), sketchy from the free throw line (1-5), and committed a sketchy flagrant foul in the fourth quarter. The first two I can forgive–everyone has their nights. The flagrant I can’t. The Suns used their extra possession to hit a three pointer, giving them a nine point lead midway through the fourth quarter.

Jabari Parker, D+

7 Points | 2-7 FG | 3-4 FT | 6 REB | 1 AST | 1 STL | 0 BLK |

Not the Jabari Parker that I know. He had zero rhythm with the ball in his hands, missing a couple wild attempts off the dribble. He hasn’t looked that off since returning from his injury. He also looked winded and, frankly, exhausted long before an NBA player should be.

Greg Monroe, A

13 Points| 6-10 FG | 1-2 FT | 2 REB | 4 AST | 0 STL | 0 BLK |

Still playing on a gimpy leg, Monroe provided the critical go-ahead basket late in the fourth quarter. He’s been clutch down the stretch the entire season and this was just another case of his reliability near the basket. Now if the Bucks can just show signs of a dominant team as to convince him to stick around longer than two years.
