Milwaukee Bucks Grades: Bench
John Henson, A-
8 Points | 4-6 FG | 0-0 FT | 6 REB | 3 AST | 0 STL | 5 BLK |
With Prunty showing Monroe the bench, Henson had a great chance to shine. And he did just that. Despite allowing some easy baskets to Thunder bigs late in the game, Henson was solid. He led the Bucks in (+/-) with a cool +8. He’s been better lately. That doesn’t mean he’s worth the contract, but better is better. We’ll take it.
Johnny O’Bryant, B-
2 Points | 1-1 FG | 0-0 FT | 3 REB | 1 AST | 0 STL | 0 BLK |
As the captain of the Bucks all-hustle team you expect to see JOB pull in an offensive rebound or two. But, as the leader of the bonehead mistakes crew, you also expect him to commit at least one dumb turnover per 36 minutes. Tuesday night those two things happened within five seconds of each other as he pulled in an offensive rebound then passed it straight to a Thunder defender.
O.J. Mayo, B
14 Points | 5-12 FG | 2-2 FT | 2 REB | 2 AST | 2 STL | 0 BLK |
I love the veteran leadership that Mayo brings off the bench. When he shoots a solid percentage from three (2-4) like he did Tuesday night, I love his play even more. He hasn’t been remarkable this season, but he has been steady–and that’s something the Bucks can bank on every night.
Jerryd Bayless, B
8 Points | 3-6 FG | 1-1 FT | 2 REB | 4 AST | 0 STL | 0 BLK |
He likes to slow things down on offense. In a game against a fast-paced team that can be the kiss of death. In each of the three quarters that MCW played more minutes than Bayless, the Bucks scored over 30 points. In the second period, where Bayless saw eight minutes to MCW’s four, the Bucks scored just 23 points.
