John Henson – 2.0 blocks per game – 5th in the NBA

Much like Greg Monroe has rebounding locked down from here on out, nobody is challenging John Henson for this blocks per game title on the Milwaukee Bucks. The fact that Henson is fifth among all players despite not getting close to starter’s minutes is honestly remarkable.

Just like last month, Henson is second to only Hassan Whiteside in blocked shots per 36 minutes. Henson has been incredible in his limited minutes this season, despite having the occasional goose egg game. With the minutes fluctuations he’s dealt with this season, that’s fairly understandable.

Here’s a fun fact to illustrate just how great Henson is at blocking shots. Giannis Antetokounmpo is currently second on the Bucks in total blocks, despite playing more than double the minutes Henson has. If John Henson decided to sit out for the rest of the season right now, it would take Giannis 23 games to catch up–he wouldn’t pass Henson until March 12th if he played in every single game!

He may still need to work on being more consistent on a game to game basis offensively, but there is no doubt in anybody’s mind that John Henson is a terrific shot-blocker.
