Do you remember what everyone was hoping Damien Inglis would be? That’s Timothe Luwawu. Much like Inglis, Luwawu impressed as a long, athletic wing in France’s second tier, but in his case instead of jumping straight to the NBA he went to pick up experience in one of Europe’s premier leagues in Serbia.
Luwawu has starred in the Adriatic League considering it wasn’t too long ago that he was a virtual unknown, and projects to be a very interesting player in the NBA.
The Frenchman can play either wing spot on both ends of the floor thanks to being 6’7″ tall and having a 7’2″ wingspan. He’s powerful, fast and athletic, and with greater experience would certainly seem like the type of player who could hold a meaningful matchup advantage in the NBA. Scoring, creating and defense are all areas where he can potentially thrive.
At only 20 years old although his instincts show him to be the complete package, Luwawu still has some maturing to do, and his decisions will likely grow infinitely better with time.
