NBA Draft 2016: BTBP Big Board 1.0
By Adam McGee
17. Caris LeVert – Shooting Guard (Michigan)
Words by Ti Windisch
LeVert’s 2015-16 season: 16.4 PPG, 5.4 RPG, 5.2 APG, 0.9 SPG, 0.2 BPG, 50.0% FG
Caris LeVert is the kind of player the Milwaukee Bucks love. LeVert is a 6’7″ combo guard who can do a little bit of everything. He’s making half of his field goals and a solid 45 percent of his three-pointers, meaning those 16 points per game are coming very efficiency for a guard.
The biggest factor holding LeVert back right now is his age. He’s in his fourth season with Michigan, and will turn 22 in August.
That really isn’t something I find worrying. Sure, LeVert is older than some younger prospects. He still hasn’t put on any NBA miles though. LeVert has played just 101 games over those four seasons, which is less than an NBA season and a half.
In exchange for those extra years, whichever NBA team ends up drafting LeVert gets a much more polished player. Some playoff team will end up getting better right away by drafting Caris LeVert, should he fall out of the lottery.
