NBA Draft 2016: BTBP Big Board 1.0
By Adam McGee
28. Thomas Bryant – Center (Indiana)
Words by Jordan Treske
Bryant’s 2015-16 season: 11.9 PPG, 5.7 RPG, 0.9 APG, 0.3 SPG, 1.1 BPG, 69.9% FG
One of the younger freshmen in his class this season, Thomas Bryant is a great athlete for a big man. Listed at 6’10” and armed with a 7’5″ wingspan, Bryant’s close to as mobile a big man as you’ll find in this draft class as he has no trouble getting up and down the court.
Offensively, Bryant has a great ability to finish at the rim (shooting 72 percent from the field this season) and has the potential to be a great rebounder on the offensive glass.
However, Bryant’s still a very raw prospect, especially given his age. He certainly has the tools to be a solid scorer down low, but lacks the size or toughness to really flourish at this time.
Additionally, Bryant is a work in progress defensively. While he shows great hustle, his defensive instincts like defending the perimeter or protecting the rim could be much improved, especially with the type of tools he has.
