Jason Kidd, D

  • It’s the in vogue thing among Bucks fans to question Jason Kidd as both the Bucks captain for the present and the future. Decisions like leaving Greg Monroe on the bench in favor of Henson on the game’s deciding play only fuel that growing sentiment. Monroe is far from an elite rebounder. But he’s much more effective on the glass than Henson. You could make the argument that Kidd was expecting lane penetration where Henson is the superior option, but keep in mind that Giannis was on Drummond regardless. It’s just a baffling sequence.
  • He continues to do a good job getting young players some burn. In doing so he’s been able to spare his starters some extra minutes–none of the starters played more than 37 minutes. That’s a welcome sign. Plus, the data that the Bucks continue to gather on their bench players (like Inglis) could prove invaluable when making roster decisions this summer.
