Milwaukee Bucks Grades: Starters

Jerryd Bayless
Jerryd Bayless /

, A-

15 Points | 6-9 FG | 0-0 FT | 5 REB | 1 AST | 0 STL | 0 BLK |

He rediscovered his shooting touch, hitting three of four three point attempts. He hit a top of the key jumper off a screen and was his usual scrappy self near the rim. He even hit one of those floaters that have become his signature shot. All things were good from Bayless in this one.

Khris Middleton, B-

9 Points| 3-7 FG | 2-2 FT | 2 REB | 11 AST | 2 STL | 0 BLK |

Aside from forcing the action in the fourth quarter he had a pretty smooth (if underwhelming) performance. He hit a couple rhythm jumpers and looked like an integral part of the Bucks offense handing out 11 assists. At the end of the day the Bucks need more offensive production from him. As such, his grade suffers slightly.

Giannis Antetokounmpo, A-

24 Points | 11-19 FG | 2-2 FT | 6 REB | 6 AST | 0 STL | 1 BLK |

Until he starts to demonstrate that he can hit a three-pointer with any sort of consistency I’m going to whine every time he lifts for a jumper from beyond the arc. On the other hand that top of the key jumper has been falling for a while now so it was a bit of a surprise to see LeBron sag all the way into the paint when facing up against Giannis. Giannis made him pay on multiple occasions by sinking a long-range jumper.

Jabari Parker

, C

12 Points | 5-8 FG | 1-2 FT | 1 REB | 3 AST | 4 STL | 0 BLK

Yes, I see that Jabari racked up four steals. That’s a great number on paper, but on the court he was simply in the right place at the right time on two of those steals. Heck, what am I talking about? Any Jabari defensive acumen comes up roses in my books. He was invisible on the glass, however, and that hurts his grade.

Greg Monroe, C+

14 Points| 6-9 FG | 2-2 FT | 2 REB | 1 AST | 1 STL | 0 BLK |

I don’t despise Monroe in a Bucks uniform–I really don’t. But every time he takes a play off so that he can complain to a referee while hanging his teammates out to dry, a piece of my Bucks fanboy soul dies. Combine that with his seemingly-lazy canter up and down the court and you can see why many Bucks fans are calling for his trade this summer.
