Skal Labissiere

A big man with good size, touch and instincts, Labissiere’s name was often placed in conversations about the first overall pick prior to the college basketball season, but it just never really worked out for him at Kentucky.

The Haitian native proved his potential as a rim-protector with 1.6 blocks in only 15 minutes per game, and whether he finds himself at the four or the five in the NBA, you’d have to be confident that skill would translate.

Offensively, you’d have to hope that Labissiere is something of a diamond in the rough, but in order to really make a consistent impact on either end as a pro he’ll be required to bulk up his slim frame.

Although there was next to no evidence of it with the Wildcats, rumors have persisted that Labissiere is determined to extend his shooting range, as highlighted in the video below.

He’s a long way away from consistent three-point shooting being even close to a reality, but the most pressing question for NBA execs will be what went wrong with his season? Getting a chance to get to know him face to face would give the Bucks a better idea on whether he’s a long term option or not.
