Who Is Michael Gbinije?

Michael Gbinije is a 6’7″ forward who recently finished his senior season playing basketball at Syracuse. Gbinije is likely a late second-round pick this year, although he could end up going higher than that.

Gbinije is older than other seniors, mostly because he had to sit out a year due to transferring from Duke after his freshman season. Gbinije cited Syracuse being a better fit as the reason, and he’s since played three solid years with the Orange.

Gbinije didn’t have much buzz around him before the NBA Combine, but he impressed scouts and writers in attendance there.

Now, as the NBA Draft approaches, teams with second-round picks will certainly be aware of Gbinije. He’s older, but polished from that extra experience. Still, will his age and other flaws weigh him down too much for him to be drafted come June?

Like any prospect, Gbinije has both strengths and weaknesses. We’ll go through them all, along with what the experts are saying and how Michael Gbinije would look in a Milwaukee Bucks uniform.
