The growth from Giannis Antetokounmpo was arguably the biggest triumph for the Milwaukee Bucks this season.  How big of a leap did he make?

Coming off a year where he clearly defied expectations, Giannis Antetokounmpo entered this season having something to prove.

After all, Antetokounmpo was entering his third season in the NBA and given what we saw when he had the honor of playing for the Greek national team last summer, it was hard to not be excited by what he and the Bucks could do this season.

While the preseason excitement surrounding the Bucks quickly turned into disappointment once regular season play began, Antetokounmpo was one of the few reasons to still have hope in the Bucks this year and beyond.

Whether it’d be going up for a dunk from near the free-throw line or launching a half-court pass to set up a teammate for a score, Antetokounmpo was able to reel off highlight plays on a nightly basis.

However, Antetokounmpo’s play this season soared to new heights when he was tasked to be the team’s primary ball handler after the All-Star break.

While we had seen this experiment prior to this season, Antetokounmpo was unequivocally unleashed by the change and it led to unprecedented performances from him over the second half of the season.

All in all, Antetokounmpo’s season cemented his presence as part of the Bucks plans for the years to come and it’s been exciting to see how far he’s come in the short time he’s been in Milwaukee.

For now though, let’s take a look at how Antetokounmpo’s year unfolded.
