Pros
A lot of what stood with Dellavedova’s role on the Cavaliers would (or will) apply with the Bucks as well.
Not particularly skilled as a true point guard, Dellavedova has carved out a nice role by primarily playing off the ball and thriving as a shooter (For instance, Dellavedova had a usage percentage of 15.9 percent this year, per Basketball-Reference.com).
In his short time in the league, Dellavedova has improved his three-point shooting after every season, starting with 36 percent from deep in his rookie season to shooting 41 percent from downtown this year.
Of course, that’s something the Bucks have lacked considerably since they dealt Brandon Knight in the middle of the 2014-15 season, so Dellavedova’s three-point shooting would be quite welcomed by the Bucks.
While the jury is still out on how impactful of a defender he is, there’s no denying how much of a pest Dellavedova is on that end of the floor, especially on the ball.
Whether that remains true as Dellavedova potentially changes teams is unknown at this point, but he could nonetheless help the Bucks in an area where they really slipped the most last season.
