Lance Stephenson

If there was one word that typified Lance Stephenson, it’d be misunderstood. Stephenson doesn’t have the best NBA reputation after an awful season in Charlotte in 2014-15, but he’s still a good player.

He proved that in Memphis last year, where he averaged 14.2 points, 4.4 rebounds and 2.8 assists per game on 47.4 percent field goal shooting and 35.5 percent three-point shooting. Stephenson is a career 30.8 percent shooter from long-range, but he made at least 33 percent of his triples in three of the last four years.

Even if his shooting is a little streaky, the other thing Stephenson can provide is defense. He’s a great wing defender who helped make the Indiana Pacers a true force on the defensive end during their last trip to the Conference Finals.

The two things Milwaukee needs more than all else is three-point shooting and defense. Stephenson ticks both of those boxes. He also could provide some leadership–he’s been to the Eastern Conference Finals and squared off with LeBron before. That’s no small accomplishment.
